Data Science Director – Healthcare

Our client is a global software solutions business, with a strong focus on engineering, looking to pivot and transition into advisory and consulting.

Following the appointment of an industry-recognised Director of Data & AI, they are looking to hire further senior leaders in the data space.

We are specifically looking for individuals who have worked in the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare markets, who can bring market-leading expert knowledge on the data challenges facing modern pharmaceutical manufacturers and/or healthcare providers.

You will employ skills in shaping strategic, commercially cantered, data science and analytics solutions for end clients, working to understand problems and opportunities as you navigate discussions at board level, to guide and influence their technology roadmaps. You will be identifying cost reduction opportunities, areas of acceleration and revenue generation, applying ML and AI solutions to drive operational efficiencies and improved enterprise performance. You will leverage their 10k+ engineering workforce to roll out repeatable and scalable solutions across multiple regions globally, as a team, across many industry verticals including Retail, Automotive, Healthcare and Travel.

Naturally they are seeing a boom around AI (particularly GenAI disruption and risk) so any key knowledge here would be hugely advantageous. And given there is a lack of knowledge around AI internally, the ability to credibly engage and influence at c-suite is imperative.

Additionally, in line with recent trends, they have seen their Private Equity vertical grow significantly, whereby 20% of their business now comes from PE backed organisations, being supported by large capital funds such as KKR and BainCap.

Skills & experience required:

• Educated to degree level in a quantitative subject; Machine Learning, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics etc.
• Senior leadership experience in data science and analytics, with strong skills in shaping and delivering end to end solutions is key.
• Expert in engaging with and influencing c-suite stakeholders, in order to understand requirements and in turn build trust and investment into data science and analytics projects.
• Comfortable with building and shaping a new business from scratch, working collaboratively to define and scale repeatable data science and analytics services.
• Proven Domain experience in the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry is essential.
