I’m looking for an experienced User Researcher to join a GDS-aligned project with a high-profile government body. This is a chance to shape user-centred services that make a real difference.

Length: 6 months (initial)
Start: End of September
Hybrid: 2 days onsite (London), 3 remote
Rate: £500/day (Inside IR35)
💡 What you’ll be doing
You’ll work as part of a cross-functional, agile team to apply user-centred design to improve digital services. From discovery through to live, you’ll plan and run research, translate insights into clear recommendations and collaborate closely with service designers, content designers and developers.
✨ What we’re looking for
👉 Strong GDS experience, confident with service assessments and gov standards.
👉 Skilled in mixed methods- from qualitative interviews to quant surveys, analytics and usability testing.
👉 Background across both public and private sector projects.
👉 Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
👉 Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams – including with developers.
