Omnis Partners is partnering with a PE-backed, data-driven technology business that is bringing engineering in-house as it scales a flagship data product at the heart of its commercial offering.

This is a senior individual contributor role within a newly forming engineering function, offering hands-on ownership, technical depth and real impact from day one.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in operating, scaling and improving a complex, cloud-based data platform as ownership transitions from external suppliers to an internal team.

Working closely with the Lead Architect (and with clear visibility to the CTO), you’ll focus on reliability, performance, cost optimisation and day-to-day operational excellence across the platform.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys making data platforms stable, efficient and production-ready at scale.

What You’ll Be Doing

Hands-On Technical Delivery

• Deliver technical solutions within the target architecture defined by the Lead Architect
• Optimise data pipelines, warehouse performance and cloud infrastructure
• Own and deliver backlog items with a strong focus on quality and reliability

Platform & Operational Ownership

• Run and optimise a production Snowflake data warehouse
• Maintain and support clean room configurations and data matching workflows
• Deploy and manage AWS infrastructure using best practice

Reliability & Performance

• Own the reliability, scalability and observability of core services
• Identify operational risks and implement preventative improvements
• Produce clear, maintainable system and operational documentation

Collaboration & Transition

• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
• Work closely with product, data and commercial teams
• Support the transition of platform ownership from third-party suppliers to in-house engineering
• Contribute to engineering standards and best practices as the team matures

Tech Environment

Hands-on experience across:

• Snowflake
• AWS (Lambda, S3, Glue, RDS, IAM, VPC)
• Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• GitLab (CI/CD)
• AWS native monitoring and secrets tooling

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer, Senior Data Engineer or similar
• Strong production experience operating and optimising Snowflake
• Solid AWS infrastructure and cloud operations background
• Proven track record improving reliability, performance and cost efficiency
• Comfortable in delivery-focused, operationally critical roles

Desirable

• Experience in PE-backed or fast-growth environments
• Exposure to data-led product platforms
• Experience bringing platforms in-house from external suppliers
