Omnis Partners are supporting a high-growth, venture-backed logistics technology company in hiring a Head of Data Platform to lead and scale its analytics engineering and data platform capability.

This is a rare opportunity to own the core data platform infrastructure of one of Europe’s fastest-scaling Series A businesses. Backed by $35M in funding from leading deep-tech investors, the company is redefining how goods move in the e-commerce era through data, optimisation, and AI-driven systems.

The Role: Head of Data Platform

As Head of Data Platform, you will own the infrastructure that transforms raw operational data into trusted, decision-grade intelligence.

The business generates high-volume, high-complexity data across logistics networks, routing, pricing, demand signals and operational performance. This data underpins dashboards, forecasting models, optimisation engines, and increasingly AI-powered automated decision systems.

You will lead the evolution of a mature data stack (including dbt and semantic layer architecture) into a globally scalable platform that remains the single source of truth as the organisation grows.

This is a strategic and hands-on data leadership role reporting to the Director of Data.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the data platform roadmap including transformation (dbt), semantic layer, orchestration and tooling
• Lead and grow a team of senior analytics engineers and data platform specialists
• Define and enforce data contracts and quality standards with upstream engineering teams
• Develop a scalable self-serve analytics strategy for product, commercial and operations stakeholders
• Ensure data is structured and observable for machine learning models and AI-driven systems
• Extend platform capability into emerging data types including real-time signals and unstructured data
• Represent data platform strategy at leadership level, translating technical decisions into commercial impact

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an experienced Data Platform Leader, Analytics Engineering Manager, or Head of Analytics Engineering with:

• Proven experience leading data platform or analytics engineering teams
• Deep expertise in dbt, data transformation, semantic modelling and modern data stacks
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data contracts, and observability
• Experience building data systems that power not just BI dashboards but automated or AI-driven workflows
• Ability to operate as a player-coach — technically credible while setting strategic direction
• Experience in high-growth, scale-up or technology-led environments
• Prior experience in logistics, marketplaces, e-commerce, fintech, or operationally complex environments is advantageous but not essential.
