Omnis Partners is working with one of the UK’s fastest-growing fintech scale-ups, redefining how payments infrastructure is built and delivered. In under five years, our client has scaled to serve over 150,000 businesses, processing billions in annual transaction volume across multiple countries.

They are now hiring an AI Engineer to help evolve a next-generation, self-serve data platform. This platform enables engineering and product teams to independently build, manage, and scale event-driven data and AI systems. You’ll play a key role in shaping the architecture, developer experience, and intelligent capabilities of a platform that sits at the heart of business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Software Engineering & AI Systems

• Build scalable microservices, AI-enabled services, and distributed data pipelines
• Develop streaming applications using technologies such as Apache Flink and Kafka
• Contribute to platform libraries, internal tooling, and reusable infrastructure components

Data Platform & Infrastructure

• Design and deploy cloud-native systems across AWS and GCP environments
• Build and operate Kubernetes-based services and controllers
• Deliver reliable, scalable platform services with strong SLAs and SLOs

Platform Innovation

• Help integrate AI and intelligent automation into core platform capabilities
• Improve developer experience through automation, tooling, and self-service capabilities
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology strategy

Collaboration & Ownership

• Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to deliver impactful solutions
• Take ownership of critical platform components from design through production

Required Skills & Experience

Core Engineering Skills

• Strong programming experience in Python, Go, or Java
• Experience building distributed systems, backend services, or data platforms
• Solid understanding of system design, scalability, and reliability

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Experience with AWS, GCP, or multi-cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native architecture

Data & Streaming Technologies (desirable)

• Experience with streaming tools such as Apache Flink, Kafka, or Spark
• Experience building data pipelines or event-driven architectures

AI & Platform Engineering (desirable)

• Exposure to AI systems, ML infrastructure, or intelligent platform tooling
• Experience building internal developer platforms or self-serve infrastructure
