Over the past 12–18 months, alongside the constant evolution in the AI talent market a new trend is appearing in the form of enablement.
Specifically – the rise of Agentic AI Trainers.
What started as a “side-of-desk” responsibility within consultancies is quickly becoming a defined, in-demand role in its own right as clients look for alternative solutions to keep up with the demand for Agentic talent.
Demand Is Outpacing Supply
Client demand for agentic talent now hugely outnumbers agentic candidates in the market and with internal talent becoming somewhat obsolete with ongoing pivots to AI. Solutions now increasing are looking internally to pivot and redeploy existing Data and Engineering talents to AI.
Clients have been looking to Leaders to deliver:
- Internal bootcamps
- Client workshops
- Hackathons
And the impact has been huge, we’ve seen consultancies successfully:
- Train 300+ engineers and data professionals
- Pivot teams from traditional ML/Data roles into agentic system builders
- Dramatically accelerate time-to-delivery on client engagements
The Next Tipping Point
We’re now seeing the next evolution. Consultancies are looking to scale these training programmes and that requires people who can own enablement full-time, not just alongside delivery.
But here’s the challenge, those that have been at the coalface of agentic know that you need to be living, breathing and building daily or you will fall behind. Which makes it difficult to pull top engineers and leaders away from the coalface and into purely training-focused roles.
One thing that’s for sure is demand for these profiles is rising rapidly and the bar is high- candidates need real production experience, not just theory. Unsurprisingly, rates are climbing quickly as demand skyrockets.
